Our client is an independent waste management company based in Cambridgeshire who operate a successful and profitable business providing both commercial and domestic recycling and waste management services. As part of the companys expansion plans for 2012 they are looking to capitalise on their current position and recruit a Business Development Manager to expand the recycling side of their business to further increase turnover and profitability.

Our client is only prepared to consider candidates that can clearly demonstrate excellent business acumen and commercial experience gained within the environmental, waste management or recycling industry.
Key Duties:
The business already employs an Operational Manager who is responsible for the onsite and offsite operations of the waste management and recycling business and general running of the company. You will work alongside the Operational Manager and be responsible for growing the turnover and increasing the profitability of the business. There is excellent opportunity for future growth and your key focus will be increasing the recycling side of the business and maximising profit opportunities.
You must be capable of driving the business forward and come up with business development ideas, increasing sales and marketing the business. You will report directly to the Managing Director of the business, updating on targets, performance, budgets and requests for investment.
Key Responsibilities:
- B2B Sales Development and Client Account Management
- Researching the market for opportunities and areas to increase business and profitability
- Researching the current recycling process for opportunities and new venture for possible investment
- Promoting a recycling development plan
- Marketing the business to secure new clients and promote the recycling services
- Business strategy, revenue opportunities and cost reduction ideas
- Sales performance and ongoing pricing review
This is an excellent opportunity with a privately owned business, for an ambitious candidate looking for a real business opportunity within the recycling and waste management / environmental sector. The salary and benefits package on offer depends on your previous experience but will include a salary between £30-45K, company car and a performance bonus based on increasing the company turnover.
In return for hitting growth targets for the company, our client is also prepared to consider a performance based future equity share in the business, giving you the chance to become a stakeholder in the company and benefit long term in its future.
Locally based candidates will be given priority but candidates from further afield who are serious about relocation and have relevant experience would be considered.
