Technical Moves Contractor Services – Successful Flexible Staffing
August 3, 2011 No CommentsAs the Construction & Property industry improves & the holiday season begins, the UK’s flexible labour market is set to grow. More & more employers are opting for temporary employment solutions to bring in the skills they need & help maximise business efficiency.
So why use a temporary worker? If your business has seasonal peaks or holiday cover issues, using temporary staff can be an extremely cost-effective solution. The flexibility of a temporary worker allows you to react quickly to changes in your business and can be the difference between retaining or losing business.
Traditionally “temps” are used to bring specialist expertise & knowledge to bespoke projects/contracts, peaks in workloads, and to act as interim cover against absences such as holiday, sickness, & maternity leave. However more recently temporary workers are contracted to cover concerns over employee commitment & to help service workloads when there is a lack in confidence to recruit a permanent employee whilst workflow is uncertain. Utilising a temporary worker on a temporary contract offers you a flexible solution to service the immediate workload and trial an additional team member with little commitment.
As an REC accredited agent, we are required to check the following:
▪ The workers identity and eligibility to work in the UK
▪ The candidate has the experience, training, qualifications & authorisation necessary by the client, or any professional body, to work in the position.
▪ Membership checks on any relevant qualifications
▪∙Two previous employment references
