A Cambridge based company who specialise within solar energy have just commissioned a new development and manufacturing facility in Cambridge. The project has been commissioned by a company called Eight19 who plan to produce the next generation of solar solutions for a global market.
Eight19, will base the facility at Cambridge Science Park where they plan to build the largest facility in Europe for the development of printed organic solar cells.
They will be using new technology and specialist equipment to optimise the time required to produce high volume organic solar cell production. By using a high-speed facility, they plan to create a low cost solar power generation to be used in high volume industrial products as well as Eight19’s pay-as-you-go-solar system, known as IndiGo, for off-grid power generation in emerging economies.
